Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Project Atlas (“Atlas”, “we”, “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Atlas for sellers, not advertisers — we don't sell your data, and we collect only what's needed to run the product.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider, Supabase, stores your email address and password (encrypted). Your name and profile photo — shown on Settings > Account — are stored in our database, linked to your account.

Usage data. When you use Atlas Coach or any Atlas Studio tool (Title Generator, Description Generator, Tag Generator, and others), the text you enter and the response generated are sent to Anthropic's API to produce the result. We keep a history of these generations so you can revisit them, but we don't use them to train any AI model.

Moments Calendar. When you use Moments Calendar, gift note text your customers included with their Etsy orders is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate personalized moment predictions and draft messages. This is limited to the gift note text and purchase date — no other customer data is analyzed.

Cost inputs. You may optionally enter your own cost estimates (materials cost, labor hours) for your products, which we store to calculate your real profit margins.

Ask an Etsy Expert. If you contact us through Ask an Etsy Expert, we store your questions, our replies, and any screenshots you choose to attach. Unlike Atlas Studio and Atlas Coach, nothing here is sent to an AI provider — your question is read and answered by a person on the Atlas team.

A note on other people's information. If a screenshot you upload includes another person's personal information (for example, a customer's name, address, or order details), that information will be handled under this same policy. Please avoid including more personal data than is necessary to get help.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and secure your account, and to authenticate you when you sign in.
  • To generate the content and insights you request from Atlas Studio and Atlas Coach.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve Atlas — for example, understanding which features are used and where errors occur.
  • To send you account-related communications, such as email verification and password reset links.

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account and application data are stored with Supabase, in the EU (Frankfurt) region. Requests to Atlas Studio and Atlas Coach are processed by Anthropic's API to generate a response; Anthropic does not use this data to train its models under our agreement with them.

Ask an Etsy Expert screenshots. Screenshots are stored in a private cloud storage bucket that is not publicly accessible. They are never indexed, listed, or reachable by a direct link.

Who can see them. Only Atlas staff reviewing your request can view attachments, through short-lived links that expire automatically after a few minutes.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We don't sell your personal information. We share data with the following categories of service providers, only as needed to operate Atlas:

  • Anthropic — processes the inputs you submit to Atlas Coach and Atlas Studio in order to generate a response.
  • Supabase — hosts our authentication system and database.

We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

5. Cookies

Atlas uses an essential cookie to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics cookies to measure how the site is used. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking pixels. See our Cookie Policy for details.

6. Your Rights

You can review, export, or delete your data at any time from Settings > Data & Privacy. Deleting your account removes your profile and generation history, along with your Ask an Etsy Expert requests and any screenshots attached to them; some information may be retained briefly where required for legal or security purposes.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice.

8. Etsy Data

When you connect your Etsy shop, Atlas accesses limited categories of data through Etsy's official API on your behalf, including your shop's listings, order information, and shop statistics — including fees, payouts, and revenue data from your Etsy payment account, used to calculate real profit margins (True Profit Compass).

Atlas also processes buyer identifiers from your order history to identify repeat customers (Shop Health Radar) and to detect gift notes for Moments Calendar. These identifiers are used only to group your own order data and are not shared, sold, or used for any purpose beyond these features within your account.

This data is used solely to provide you, the authorizing seller, with Atlas's features. We do not share this data with third parties or sell it under any circumstances.

If we become aware of a security breach affecting your Etsy data, we will notify you within 24 hours.

DISCLAIMER: THIS APPLICATION IS SOLELY PROVIDED BY ATLAS. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ETSY, INC. AND ITS AFFILIATES ARE NOT THE APPLICATION DEVELOPER, DO NOT PROVIDE THE APPLICATION SERVICE, AND MAKE NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT TO THE APPLICATION OR DATA ACCESSED THROUGH IT.

9. The Atlas Browser Extension

Atlas for Etsy is an optional Chrome extension. It runs only on etsy.com — it is not permitted to run on any other website, and it does not read, record, or transmit your browsing history.

What it reads. On an Etsy listing, shop, or search page, the extension reads the listing identifier or shop name of the page you are viewing, so it can show you what Atlas knows about that item. It does not read anything else from the page.

How pairing works. Your Atlas Settings page can send the extension a pairing code, so connecting takes one click instead of typing the code out. Only that one page is permitted to send it anything, only a pairing code is ever sent, and the code is useless after ten minutes or a single use. The session token itself is created inside the extension and is never given to any web page, including ours. You can still pair by typing a code instead, on any browser.

What it stores in your browser. Two things, both in chrome.storage.local: the session token created when you pair the extension with your Atlas account, and whether you left the panel open. Neither is synced across your devices, and removing the extension removes both.

What it stores in your account. Listings, shops, and keywords you choose to star are saved to your Atlas account so they appear in both the extension and your dashboard. Only the item's name or identifier is saved — never a figure, price, or statistic. You can remove any of them at any time.

Where it sends data. Only to the Atlas API on our own domain. Every request carries the token created during pairing, and each endpoint returns data belonging solely to that account. The extension contacts no third-party service and loads no code from anywhere outside its own package.

Profit estimates. If you use the profit calculator, the price and cost figures you type are sent to our API to apply Etsy's published fee rates and are not stored. No card, bank, or payment details are involved.

Disconnecting from inside the extension revokes that browser's session token immediately, and it cannot be used again.

10. Subprocessors

We use the following subprocessors to operate Atlas. Each has access only to the data necessary to perform its function.

11. International Data Transfers

Where we transfer personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) — for example, to Anthropic (United States) — we rely on one or more of the following safeguards:

  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission, incorporated into our data processing agreements with subprocessors;
  • Participation in recognized data protection frameworks by the recipient, where applicable;
  • Assessment of the recipient's data protection practices prior to transfer.

You may request further information about the safeguards used for a specific transfer by contacting support@atlasgrowth.app.

12. Your GDPR Rights (EEA/UK users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate data;
  • Request erasure of your data, subject to legal retention requirements;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Request data portability;
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

To exercise these rights, contact support@atlasgrowth.app. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.

Ask an Etsy Expert. Screenshots are automatically deleted 30 days after your request is closed. The text of your questions and our replies is kept as part of your account history.
